Duke Center for Living
The Duke Center for Living is a local and national resource for both medical and wellness information in a variety of programs that improve the lifestyle of our clients. Our mission is to help people achieve optimal health and quality of life through prevention, treatment, education and research.
We offer three programs - the Duke Executive Health Program, the Duke Diet & Fitness Center, and for local clients, the Duke Health & Fitness Center. Though separate programs, the philosophies of health and wellness are the same - to help create a customized, practical and sustainable lifestyle plan for each person.
The Duke Health & Fitness Center and Duke Executive Health facilities, are located on a beautiful 26-acre wooded site near Duke University's West Campus and Duke University Medical Center. The Durham area offers year-round sporting events, exhibits, lectures, cultural activities and entertainment.
As a part of Duke University Health System, you have access to the centers of excellence, including the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duke Heart Center, Duke University Eye Center, the Arthritis Center, Women's Services, the Aesthetic Center and other superb medical resources.
Parking
Free parking is conveniently located next to each of the buildings on the Center for Living campus.
Disabled Access
Handicapped parking and accessible entrances and pathways are provided on the Center for Living campus.
Directions
From the Northeast or the Duke Diet & Fitness Center (DFC):
From the Northeast corridor: take I-95 to Petersburg, VA. Exit to I-85 South.
From the DFC: turn right on Trinity, then right on Duke St., 1 mile to I-85 South.
- Take I-85 to Exit 173A, US 15/501 South, Chapel Hill. This is a left exit.
- 2.2 miles, take Exit 107, NC 751, Duke University West Campus. Turn left at light.
- Go under bridge, through next light, 0.3 miles, then left at Erwin Road light.
- 100 yards on Erwin Road, then turn left into Duke Center for Living Campus.
From Washington Duke Golf Course and Inn:
- Exit the Inn onto Cameron Blvd, turning left at the light.
- Go 0.3 miles and turn right onto Erwin Road.
- 100 yards on Erwin Road, then turn left into Duke Center for Living Campus.
From Greensboro and points South and West:
- Take I-40 or I-85 to Greensboro, NC.
- Continue on I-85 North when I-40 splits to the east.
- Take I-85 to Exit 170, to NC 751, Duke University. This puts you eastbound on US 70 E.
- Stay on US 70 for 1.4 miles, then turn right on NC 751.
- Go 1.5 miles, through 2 lights, then left at Erwin Road light.
- 100 yards on Erwin Road, then turn left into Duke Center for Living Campus.
From the Sun Coast and Southeast, or from RDU Airport:
From FL or the Southeast, take I-95 to Benson, NC, and exit onto I-40W.
From RDU: Follow airport exit signs to I-40W toward Durham and Research Triangle Park.
- Follow I-40 approximately 4 miles from RDU to the Research Triangle Park area, Exit 279B, Durham Downtown, and merge onto NC Rt. 147 (Durham Freeway).
- Follow Durham Freeway for 13 miles to Exit 16B, US 15/501 Bypass South, Chapel Hill, indicated as the Duke University West Campus exit. Move to the center lanes of 15/501.
- After 1 mile, take Exit 107, NC 751, Duke University West Campus. Turn left at light.
- Go under bridge, through next light, 0.3 miles, then left at Erwin Road light.
- 100 yards on Erwin Road, then turn left into Duke Center for Living Campus.
